PURGATORIO, Episode 170. A Read-Through Of PURGATORIO, Cantos XXII - XXIV
We’ve been on the fifth terrace of Mount Purgatory for a long while, walking among the avaricious (and apparently among those of another sin—although we didn’t know it at the time).
We’re about to ascend to the sixth terrace. Along the way, Virgil and Statius will talk about sin, redemption, and Virgil’s role in the message of grace. We’ll then meet souls in the arboretum of the sixth terrace purging their gluttonous ways but mostly talking about poetry, prophecy, and perhaps the intersection between the two.
No translation here. Instead, sit back and listen to this rough translation of these cantos before we break them apart into better translations for our continued walk with Dante.
