An eight-week reading series on the novels of Eudora Welty, a writer who found her way out of Southern Gothic by way of Chekhov’s naturalist realism and psychological interiority.

Session #5: THE GOLDEN APPLES (1949), “Shower Of Gold” and “June Recital.”

Format: Lecture with some discussion.
